Restoring my faith…

I came home after yet another 13 hour day in the hospital and turned on my computer. As my aged powerbook sputtered to life and slowly booted, I thought about how disappointed I was 2 years ago. How shocked and ashamed I was that our country had elected these people. Today, I knew the house was ours; a powerful statement in itself. I was floored when I saw that the senate had a change of hands as well.

I have many many news sites and blogs that I need to read, but I’m falling asleep at the keyboard. At least I can fall asleep with a sense of optimism that I haven’t had in 2 years.

Making Oregon proud…

While I am not entirely pleased with Sen. Ron Wyden’s record, I find that junior senator Gordon Smith is hugely ineffectual and silent on issues that matter to Oregon.

This, however, is extremely troubling. Smith’s support of broadcast flags are bad enough, but he’s topping it off with a blatant conflict of interest.
