Peekskill, NY…

picture-1.pngI took advantage of the amazing weather yesterday and rode from the Bronx up to Peekskill.  It was an awesome 57 mile ride.

A broken seat-clamp bolt was responsible for the somewhat rough start, but we were on our way shortly thereafter.   The ride presented great rolling hills and shitloads of greenery, which I don’t get too much of these days.  At the end I inhaled a 1/2 lbs burger, fries, coffee, and a milkshake at a great little diner with outdoor seating.  Then, a nice train ride back on the Metro-North that parallels the Hudson.  We got off at 125th st – Harlem.  It is always a shock to go from rolling empty roads to fighting taxis in the city.

Now if only I had enough time to do rides like this every day.
